Download Terraflux

Version 1.41.0. Each package brings GDAL, PROJ and the runtimes Terraflux needs: you do not need Python, R or a GIS installed.

Windows

Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit

  1. Run the .msi. Terraflux is installed for you, without the administrator's permission, with a shortcut in the Start menu.
  2. Open Terraflux from the Start menu, or double-click a model file (.toml).
  3. The installer puts terraflux on the PATH: open a new terminal and type terraflux --version.

macOS

Apple silicon (M1 or later)

  1. Open the .dmg and drag Terraflux.app to Applications.
  2. The application is not notarized yet: the first time, right-click it and choose Open.
  3. For the command line: ln -s /Applications/Terraflux.app/Contents/MacOS/terraflux /usr/local/bin/terraflux

Linux

x86-64, glibc 2.39 or newer (Ubuntu 24.04+, Debian 13+, Fedora 40+, Arch)

  1. On Debian or Ubuntu: sudo apt install ./terraflux_1.41.0_amd64.deb. On Fedora: sudo dnf install ./terraflux-1.41.0-1.x86_64.rpm (openSUSE: sudo zypper install). On Arch: sudo pacman -U terraflux-1.41.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst. Terraflux goes to /opt/terraflux, the command to /usr/bin, with an entry in the menu.
  2. Anywhere else, unpack the .tar.gz and run ./install.sh: it links the command into ~/.local/bin and adds Terraflux to the menu, without root.
  3. The application needs the desktop's own libraries (EGL or Vulkan, and libxkbcommon-x11 or Wayland); the command line needs none.

Other ways to get Terraflux

Build from source

Terraflux needs Rust 1.85 or later, CMake and a C++17 compiler.

git clone --recurse-submodules https://github.com/sacridini/terraflux.git
cd terraflux
cargo build --release

On a server or a cluster

The Linux archive runs without a desktop: the command line, the coordinator and the workers need no graphics libraries. See parallel and distributed computing.
